In a comformist society we postpone the most important task, which is inevitably passed on to the new generations.

Bio

Davide Canepa is an Italian modern symbolist. He was born in 1979 in Genoa and from the beginning his technique was inspired by the industrial environment in which he grew up. He has lived and worked in Italy, London and Scotland, before settling down in Sopot. In addition to regularly exhibiting his paintings in Tricity and Warsaw, Davide also co-founded a project “LIVE ART” where he paints live in public spaces with his wife Anna. He has had numerous exhibitions in Poland and his works have also been exhibited in many European cities, e.g. in Rome, London, Rotterdam and Barcelona, in 2022 he created a mural during Urban Art Area in Centrum Praskie Koneser in Warsaw.

He is fascinated by the mechanisms that drive individuals and all humanity, from the simplest everyday tools to the deepest and most complex structures of our society. This study is reflected in his art through symbols, where the language is reminiscent of primal expression – essential to communicate directly with the viewer at a deep level of consciousness. Davide’s priority is continuous learning, because in his opinion, the development of the individual is the only way to develop society, and changes in the world should start with changes in ourselves.

Among his personal interests we find philosophy, traditional Chinese literature, open source in computing, and the works of Carl Gustav Jung.
