Artist, born in 1977 in Tychy; city where he works and creates. He practices painting and drawing. When creating abstract forms, he uses the oil technique in his original works, which gives great opportunities to manipulate light and color. Abstractions each time refer to and refer to a coherent world created by the artist, which became the leitmotif and characteristic of his work. In addition to these forms, there are paintings “on the border” in which Hadryś presents human figures – always on the edge, somewhere on the border. Figures as if trying to enter this “other” world. Few, but important for understanding his work, are portraits. The apparent calmness of the characters is disturbed by the perceptible darkness, the shadow – anxiety that dominates the work. The artist usually does not title his paintings so as not to limit the imagination of the potential viewer.
Prof. Jan Wiktor Sienkiewicz believes that the painterly orientations of many of Bartosz Hadryś’s paintings, “with subtly balanced colors, are full of particularly interesting references to the world of nature, nature and animals, indicating the Polish painter’s resonance with the great Flemish and Dutch masters of still life. In these masterfully composed works, organic weaves of all kinds of painterly worked species of plants, flowers and fruits, taken from the nature surrounding the artist, intertwine with each other, carrying a whole wealth of symbolism relating to fertility and abundance, into which the artist often weaves the motif skulls – with its palette of many vanitas meanings. As a consequence, in the works of Bartosz Hadryś, as rarely in contemporary visual arts, we find not only a solid painting technique, but a whole wealth of meanings and codes, giving wide interpretation possibilities of his compositions.
