Art will save us

The domestic art market is soaring and records are being set at auction. in 2021 r. The Polish art market grew by more than 60%. Well, when inflation is raging, interest rates on bank deposits are falling, the property market is slowing down and the threat of a pandemic still hasn’t passed, there are record numbers of art lovers among investors too! Art is increasingly seen by investors as a secure investment of capital.

2021 has been marked by a coronavirus pandemic, as well as skyrocketing prices for goods and services. Inflation in June this year was as high as 15.5% in Poland. The art market is the one that benefits from these phenomena.

Adam Łapiński, a representative of Art Investor, a company that promotes and sells the works of Polish artists, says the investment potential of young Polish artists is high: “When it comes to up-and-coming artists, the possibility of an increase in the value of their works is greater than with non-living artists. The barrier to entry is also much lower – at the level of a few thousand. One of the painters we represent was still selling paintings for half the current amounts a few years ago. Former clients who come back for new works are very surprised. I always explain to them then that they should be happy – after all, they have made a great investment.” Gallery 3U10’s offer for precisely this reason abounds in native, young artists with the right artistic training and who are active on the art scene.

The restrictions caused by the pandemic, the closure of galleries, fairs, the lack of live contact – all of these have accelerated the inevitable changes in galleries and auction houses. Most have not only moved with all their offerings to the Internet, but have also created hybrid forms of contact with collectors, which has probably increased the reach to a larger audience. And so our Gallery, despite having a physical exhibition and display space, also bases its activities on the Internet. On our website 3u10.pl, you can not only learn about our proposed investment offer and take a closer look at individual artists, but also purchase works of art that are both in the Gallery’s permanent offer and those presented in online auctions.

Works of art in times of economic turmoil and uncertainty are seen as a hedge against inflation, and investors see them as an opportunity to reduce risk and increase the long-term returns of their portfolios. History suggests that art holds value well and tends to outperform the rate of inflation over the long term.
